About Olivi

NurseryOlivi Nursery has provided California olive growers with top varieties and great trees since 1999. We are pioneers of the new California olive industry and we are supporting members of the California Olive Oil Council. For new cultivars and latest farming techniques we work directly with the C.N.R., the Italian Government Research Center for olives.Umberto Chironi Lubelli, founder and general manager of Olivi Nursery was born and raised in Puglia, the main olive-producing region of Italy, where he managed his family olive orchards.  He started working in the California olive industry in 1994 to continue his family tradition of farming olive trees and producing olive oil. Olivi Nursery has expanded its techniques and imported new low vigor cultivars for the purpose of farming olive trees, minimizing costs through mechanical picking and pruning. On top of the several common varieties we grow, Olivi Nursery specializes in the low vigor cultivars Fs-17/Favolosa and I-77/Allegra meant for intensive planting.
